Thesleff Group, one of London’s most dynamic and forward-thinking hospitality operators, has announced the opening of Sale e Pepe Mare, a new Italian coastal dining concept set to launch on 9 February 2026 at The Langham, London. The restaurant marks a new chapter for the legendary Sale e Pepe brand, which has been a cornerstone of Italian dining in Knightsbridge since 1974, and brings together two long-standing London icons under one roof.
Inspired by the spirit of the Italian coastline, Sale e Pepe Mare will channel the relaxed glamour, vibrant flavours and theatre of Mediterranean dining. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu will focus on seafood-led dishes that balance much-loved classics with modern interpretations.
Guests can expect signature Sale e Pepe favourites such as Linguine all’Aragosta, Branzino al Sale and Linguine Vongole e Bottarga, alongside new creations including Toro Grasso, Gambero Rosso, Spigola Crudo, Tagliarini Grancho and an impressive shellfish tower. A central seafood display will showcase the day’s freshest catch, while a Josper Grill will add depth and smokiness to whole fish, shellfish and prime cuts.
Adding a sense of occasion, the restaurant will feature tableside preparations of Caesar Salad, Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and Risotto ai Funghi Porcini, alongside the return of the iconic dessert trolley, complete with the group’s signature tiramisu. A Champagne and Negroni trolley will further elevate the experience.
The drinks list will celebrate Italy’s diverse wine regions, from Super Tuscans to a dedicated selection honouring the renowned Gaja estates, while the cocktail menu draws on 1950s Italian glamour with perfectly executed classics.
Designed to evoke sun-drenched escapism, the 5,000-square-foot space will seat 130 guests, include a private dining room for 22, a walk-in wine room and a striking 16-foot bar, making it a perfect location for inspiring events and special occasions.
“Sale e Pepe has always been more than a restaurant, it’s part of London’s cultural fabric. I grew up visiting with my parents, so it holds a special place in my heart,” said Markus Thesleff, CEO and Founder of Thesleff Group. “With Sale e Pepe Mare, we’re honouring that legacy while reimagining it for today, capturing the spirit of la dolce vita in a setting that’s effortlessly elegant and luxurious.”
